WHAT IS VRUK AND WHAT IS VRUK TECHNOLOGY Vruk is the technology of the footboard. The footboard is the most important part of bass drum pedal. This is the place where drummer's foot get indirect contact with the beater. Drummer should be able to control the beater movement through footboard - DOES HE ? Unfortunately he doesn't , The present footboard technology of all drum pedals does not offer such control. Drummer controls only forward beater movement, the backward beater movement is controlled by spring tension and power of beater rebound. How significant is that? Extremely significant, it is technology breakthrough. |

Why is this important to you as a drummer |

| Vruk technology, combined with the footboard enables the work of whole foot while producing the strokes. This is not heel&toe but combined work of heel and toe designed to control and follow the movements of the beater. Vruk technology is "the most efficient method of beater rebound ever designed". | |||||||

| THE DIRECTION OF VRUK ACTION | |||||||
| Place your heel on the vruk plate. Rock slightly forward and backward. Forward movement would sink beater towards the drum and backward would pull the beater out of the drum. The logic behind is obvious. The beater travels in forward - backward direction, not down - up direction. Subsequently, the vruk technique involves such foot movement where foot follows the actual forward - backward motion of the beater. To achieve this forward- backward feel the heel in vruk technique slightly curves in with downstroke and out with upstroke in order to keep the momentum of the motion of the beater but also to enable the most efficient release of the beater. | |||||||
Moeller hand technique is one of the examples of using stick rebound as source of power and hand momentum to keep the motion. There is no much of fingers use in Moeller or power of muscles, just the motion of whole arm which follows the rebound of stick and "come behind it" adding "just enough" power to keep the motion going. The elbow in Moeller curves in- out to add the weight to strokes but also to keep the momentum of the sticks. |

| Jim Chapin, over 80 years old but hits harder and faster then any speed metal drummer - not with power of his muscles but with power of Moeller technique logic. Vruk is the same - muscle power is not needed - power of rebound is. | |||||||

| Two flash movies explain the difference between technology of " just footboard" and vruk & footboard technology combined. It is quite obvious that vruk is not "heel & toe gimmick " but the tool designed to enable the unique weight shifting between heel and toe which in turn provides the most efficient method of " free beater rebound". With vruk technique drummer learns to unblock the beater movement and use the power of beater rebound as driving force of the motion - not the muscles or extorted muscle tension. Vruk technique is flawless and effortless and those who decide to spend some time with vruk would achieve high speed and power with absolute minimal effort. | |||||||
